Welcome to the Correia Middle School Jazz Lab Band Webpage. Jazz Lab is Correia 's beginning level jazz band and is designed for music students who wish to experience the jazz idiom without the pressure to perform. NO PREVIOUS JAZZ EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY, but students should have experience on the instrument of their choice! Instrumentation for this band is open to anyone or any instrument. In this class, students first learn the fundamentals of jazz music, and improvisation, and then play music of all styles. Genres covered in this class include: swing, bebop, dixieland, funk, and rock One or two concerts may be required throughout the course of the year and a commitment to afterschool rehearsals one to two times a week is required.

Binder Checklist
Mr. Dwyer will occasionally check you class binder to be sure you have everything you need for class. These checks are graded pass/fail. If your binder includes everything on this checklist, you pass. If not, you will not pass and will need to complete additional work to make-up your grade.
